Jennifer Montana designs jewelry that is handcrafted by individuals from Harbor House, a non-profit community center located in a largely immigrant-populated section of Oakland, California, that is afflicted by such challenging issues as unemployment, refugee status, illiteracy, and inadequate educational preparation. This employment opportunity gives these women the ability to to provide additional financial support for their families as well as build their self-esteem and sense of community in a safe environment.
